I hope you’ve been following the studio on Facebook’s Nancy Gong, Gong Glass Works or on LinkedIn and Instagram. Now you can follow my Blog here.
I have a confession. I would be bored creating the same art all the time. Is it obvious? It’s the reason why I love the commission process. I get to research and learn about new things and life experiences from my clients. I get to tell different stories and create designs that capture a feeling or sense of place, experiences through my art. I also love to explore different ways of working with glass that bring new life to fresh designs.
Here’s a couple of ideas using Lambert’s mouthblown sheet glass. Intrigued? What do you see? Let’s talk.
Sometimes the exploration comes as part of the commission, other times it’s a chance to devote boundless energy to new designs that are often smaller freestanding panels and sculptures, wall pieces or other gift items. These smaller works often inform future commissions. For me, these two approaches to making art provide a wonderful balance. For you, you get to see something different all the time! It’s a big world out there and I like being a part of it.
And best of all is that my glass artwork does indeed influence the quality of people’s lives on a daily basis, at least that is what I am told! I am proud that my art is making a difference. Thank you for being a part of that whether you are living and working with my artwork or simply sharing the excitement of my work with others.
As always, the studio continues to focus on commissioned art glass projects that are filled with meaning, spirit, heart and soul. I am always looking for exciting projects. If you think you may have one that you’d like to collaborate on – give me a call me at 585-288-5520 and let’s talk about your special project! If you know someone who may be interested, do pass my name along!
